On Monday, October 16, 2006, D.C. United announced their 2006 team award winners during the Third Annual D.C. United Awards Reception at the Galleria at Lafayette Centre in D.C. Christian Gomez, Bobby Boswell, Facundo Erpen and Josh Gros all claimed pieces of hardware during the gala event.

The event served as an opportunity for the team to honor those who help them out in their community initiatives, as well as to hand out season awards to D.C. United players. A fundraiser for D.C. United's charitable arm, United for D.C., the event grossed more than $36,000 for the foundation's charitable programming initiatives. Read full release »

Second Annual United Awards Reception
On Monday, October 17, 2005, United for D.C. hosted the Second Annual United Awards Reception at the Marriott at Metro Center in Washington, D.C. Over 200 attendees watched as D.C. United honored its 2005 team award winners, including Christian Gomez (Honda Most Valuable Player), Nick Rimando (Defender of the Year), Jaime Moreno (Budweiser Scoring Champion), Bobby Boswell (U.S. Soccer Foundation Humanitarian of the Year) and Brian Carroll (Coaches' Award).

In addition, United for D.C. awarded its second class of United Community Grants recipients, presenting over $80,000 worth of grants to six well-deserving organizations: Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Washington, the Capitol Community Soccer Club, DC Parks & Recreation, DC SCORES, the Latin American Youth Center/Columbia Heights Youth Soccer League and St. Coletta of Greater Washington.

Inaugural United Awards Reception
On, Monday, October 18, 2004, United for D.C. hosted the Inaugural United Awards Reception at The State Theatre in Falls Church, VA. Over 250 attendees watched as D.C. United honored its 2004 team award winners, including Jaime Moreno (Honda MVP, Budweiser Scoring Champion and People's Choice Award), Ryan Nelsen (Defender of the Year), Ben Olsen (U.S. Soccer Foundation Humanitarian of the Year) and Alecko Eskandarian (Coaches' Award). In addition, the audience hear from former D.C. United superstar, Marco Etcheverry, who was honored with a Years of Service Award.

In addition, United for D.C. awarded its inaugural class of United Community Grants to six well-deserving organizations: the Capital Area Food Bank, DC SCORES, the Joy of Sports Foundation, the Latin American Youth Center/Columbia Heights Youth Soccer League, the Lourie Center and Ninos Unidos.
