United for D.C. receives the majority of its funding and support from the public, more specifically the fans and corporate supporters of its sister organization, D.C. United. Many donors choose to participate in one of three key special events or to support smaller fundraising activities. Sponsorship opportunities are available for all of the signature events. This year's event took place on Tuesday, March 25, 2008 at the Capital Hilton in Washington DC and featured a keynote speech by MLS Commissioner Don Garber. More » ![]() Held during late summer or early fall, this event allows soccer fans to play golf alongside their favorite D.C. United player, coach or alumnus. The Seventh Annual United Celebrity Golf Tournament presented by GEICO and United Bank, will be held on Monday, June 23 at Old Hickory Golf in Woodbridge, VA. Last year's tournament grossed over $65,000 to support United for D.C. programs. Stay tuned for more information about this year's event. More » ![]() Held after the end of the regular season and before the playoffs, this event enables supporters to celebrate with D.C. United's players, coaches and front office as the team awards its individual season honors, including Scoring Champion, Defender of the Year and the coveted Most Valuable Player. Last year's event was held on Monday, October 22, 2007 at the Ronald Reagan Building Atrium Ballroom in D.C. During the Fourth Annual United Awards Reception D.C. United announced their 2007 team award winners Ben Olsen, Luciano Emilio, Bryan Namoff and Bobby Boswell all claimed pieces of hardware during the gala event.
